Iron Gwazi

About the Ride

Iron Gwazi is an RMC I-Box hybrid coaster located at Bush Gardens in Tampa, Florida. It is 206 feet tall, has a 91 degree drop, and reaches 76 miles per hour. It has 12 airtime moments with many of them giving incredible ejector airtime. For this ride, you are required to put all items in a locker or with someone who is not riding. The lockers cost $4, potentially forcing you to spend money to ride it.

Tips for Riding

The most intense row on Iron Gwazi is the back row because you get pulled through the entire layout, making each element whip you around. It has terrible operations, usually only running 1 train due to the lack of a mid-course break run. Because of the terrible capacity, it has pretty long lines during the day. You should either buy a quick que or go during the beginning or end of the day to get on the ride as much as possible.  Its main downside is the restraints. It has very uncomfortable lap bars that can be very painful at times. I recommend trying to give yourself a little space between the lap bar so you don't hit your legs against it too much. I enjoy the front row for the view, but the back row is much more crazy and fun.

My Opinion

Iron Gwazi is an incredible roller coaster and is the best at the park. I think this might have been my favorite roller coaster if it had comfortable restraints. The combination of the fairly painful lap bar and me getting stapled most rides hurt my experience a lot, but Iron Gwazi is still very re-ridable as long as you are well hydrated.
